Wruffian is a gorgeous dark bay Hanoverian Elite Mare who has well-earned her place in our hearts as one of our beloved foundation broodmares.   We purchased Wruffian from our good friend and mentor, Suzanne Quarles, after Wruffian had completed her Mare Performance Test and was in foal with her first baby.  Wruffian is the produce of Suzanne’s stallion Weltbekannt (Weltmeyer son) and out of Elite Mare First Avenue, by Wertherson (also owned by Suzanne).  

Wruffian has also proven to be a reliable Leader Mare, who stands sentinel watching over her mare herd with loving devotion. 

All of Wruffian’s produce have been both handsome and talented.   All of her daughters presented to the AHS to date have passed their Mare Performance Tests.   These daughters and have become performance mares with Adult Amateur owners and/or elite broodmares.  Similarly, her handsome sons have all delighted their AA owners with their handsome charrm and performance talent.

Wruffian’s most notable offspring is Don Frederic.  Freddy has exceeded our expectations.  Well beyond his exceptional uphill movement which consistently earns him 9's and some 10's from USDF judges at recognized shows, Freddy has exceptional rideability, trainability and work ethic.    In his 1st under saddle show season, he earned 4th place at the national USEF Young Horse Dressage Championships and was Region 3 Champion at Training Level.   In his 2nd competition year, Freddy was named Champion USDF Horse of the Year in two divisions (1st Level with a median score of 76.5% and 4/5 yo Material with a median score of 87.7%).
